3-6-2012 Ok weekly update day on this busy week of DG. Of course the big thing is…IT’S CRUSH WEEK!!! If you have signed up already then you can just sit back and wait for the greatness that is the Crush to get here. If you haven’t, it’s not to late…Signups will run through Thursday, you just won’t get a tourney shirt. This Wednesday we are also starting the spring/summer mini rotation, which means we are back to every Wednesday minis and a new mini on Saturday’s.
Before we get into this week’s update I want to thank a few people who have been HUGE in preparation for this year’s Crush on the Concho. As always with any organization it’s always the 10% rule….or you may have heard it “the few doing the work of the many”. Well disc golf isn’t any different as there are a few that do what it takes to get things done for the masses. With that said, I really…REALLY…would like to thank my wife Jeanne, who without her, not only the Crush, but disc golf in San Angelo would be in trouble! So thank you Jeanne for all you do for disc golf! If you see her out this weekend be sure to let her know you do appreciate all she does(even though a TON of it goes unseen). I’d also like to thank the few guys that repeatedly make it out to work days(and do other things behind the seen to improve local discs golf) no matter the weather conditions outside...without these guys the courses would not be in near the shape they are in. So again if you see these guys out this weekend at the Crush be sure to thank them and let them know you appreciate them: Cookie, who is the course maintenance man…and is doing a great job. Also Coby, Sean, Patty and Jonathan B.: who all have been huge not only in Crush preparations but also in the installation of North Concho. Thank you all for all the work you put in that goes mostly unseen and in my opinion underappreciated! I know there are others that have shown up to work days, and I also thank you very much, but these guys seem to always go above and beyond the call of duty.
Courses closed to the public
This weekend both Middle Concho and South Concho is closed to any casual play. If you are not playing in the Crush but want to get a round or 3 in…head to one of the 9 holers in town. THANKS!
