 7-31-2012  It’s weekly update time once again: This week we have a full mini schedule. The Member’s Only tourney is this Saturday! There has been a date change for this year’s West Texas Doubles due to some non-disc golf conflicts. Also the normally scheduled August Ace Race has been moved to cooler times.
Before we get into this week’s update I want to send out some CONGRATS to those that cashed this weekend at the Fly Ink Sizzler in Junction. Think we had something like 15 CVDGA members at this event, which was awesome…but some finished better than others. In the Rec. division Ryan finished up in 6th, just out done by Trey who took 4th. In the INT division Robert took 3rd place. Carl played in his first Adv master tourney in who knows how long and ended up taking 7th place. Patty also played down in the Adv division for the first time in a long time and took 6th place. He was out done by MooseKnuckle who took 1st place in the division by a pretty big margin!
MINIS
First Wednesday of the month means Handicapped singles at Brentwood this Wednesday. Teetime is 6pm.
Saturday’s S.C. mini probably wont make, but in case there are some members who can’t make the Member’s Only tourney, or some non-members looking for a game we’ll leave it on the schedule. This weeks’ format is also handicapped singles, and the location is North Concho Park….10am teetime.
Sunday’s Lake mini is set for random doubles with a teetime of 2pm.
CVDGA Member’s Only tourney
THE EVENT IS BACK ON AT THE SUNKEN GARDENS!
As you may or may not have read over the past few weeks the Club hit 50 members for the first time ever this year…then it ended up topping 60. So in an effort to show the appreciating for supporting the club the board members have come up with a Members Only Tourney that will have several CTP prizes, and a raffle that all current attending members will be entered in. Also the cost of the tourney is FREE!
The actual payout will be a free entry into the 2012 CVDGA Ace Race, a free 2013 CVDGA membership, and just for good measure…and life time Patty Fan club membership! 2nd place will receive a 2013 CVDGE Membership as well.
The plan is to play 18 holes (2 rounds of 9) of singles in the morning round, then split up into semi-random doubles. What that means is you will be paired up according to score. 1st place with last place, 2nd with 2nd to last, ect. Your scores will be added together, then the 2nd round scores will be added to that to figure out our first ever Members Only Tourney winners!
Location will be at the Sunken Garden on August 4th
Check in will be at 8am (again your name must be on the list in order to be able to participate in the event)
Players meeting 8:30am
Teetime 8:55am or so
9th Annual West Texas Doubles
I know we had announced the dates for the Doubles a few weeks back, but something has come up and we are having to push the date back 2 weeks.
The new date for this year’s doubles is September 29th and 30th and this should be our final answer…so mark your calendars, spread the word, and put in for the day off if needed!
CVDGA Ace Race
For those that have noticed it is almost August and no Ace Race signups have happened yet…that’s because we have decided to move it to cooler times! This years Ace Race is looking like it will be held in late October….so stay tuned for signup info as we get closer to pre-registration time.
