 8-28-2012  Ok so it’s weekly update day…but I am also on a short work week and have spent waaaay to much time dealing with Texas Teams this morning so I am going to keep this update short and to the point. Full mini schedule this week, 2 torneys to keep in mind over the next two weeks(I add the other next week)….and don’t forget the DOUBLES!
MINIS
Wednesday is a special mini for some of us…what does that mean? Well it means it’s a 5th Wednesday of the month and that can only mean it’s GET RIPT WEDNESDAY!!! As always with Ript rounds it will be at North Concho Park and we’ll tee off at 6am.
For those that don’t know what ript is: It is a card based disc golf game aimed and messing with your card mates. Some love it…some not so much. For those that do, you’ll know to bring a few extra beverages of your choice, and plan to be there late….which also means you may want some lights! I imagine we’ll start of thinking we are going to play 20, but in the end will probably play 16 (10 holes plus the large loop of 1-5 and 10).
Saturday is also the 1st Saturday of the month so that means back to North Concho 10am and the format will be Handicapped Singles.
Sunday is set for random doubles at 2pm.
1st Annual Tornado Open in Lamesa, Texas
Yes Lamesa has a disc golf course, and from what I hear it will surprise you at how good it is, so if you have no plans for labor day weekend head north for some DG in the land of sand!

9th Annual CVDGA’s West Texas Doubles
We are still a ways out on this one, so we get more into the details as it gets a little closer….but the main info you need to know at this point is:
Date: September 29th and 30th.
Online registration will be at www.discgolfunited.com
No day of registrations!
Courses to be played are Lake, Lake Temp, Brentwood, Picnic, and North Concho.
Note from the TD: Just a little more info on the Doubles. You can do online registration at http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/490, you can email at wake_n_jeanne©yahoo.com to arrange for in person registration, I will also announce a few Wed. minis I will come out to take registrations closer to time. But the IMPORTANT thing to know is you have to pre-register by Sept 23rd to get a T-shirt and if you register after Friday, Sept 28th at 12 noon, you will be charged a $20 per team late registration fee. So basically you have two options: A: Pre-Register and get yourself a shirt and not pay $20 extra for no reason at all, or B: Don't pre-register and not only NOT get a shirt but pay and additional $20 for no reason at all. The choice lies solely in your hands :-)

Just a little FYI for those that may not have been paying attention…2012 Texas Teams registration opened today. So if you haven’t already the time is now to get your team set before it fills. Info can be found on the Texas Team facebook page or circularproductions.com - Warlocks are already registered….Good luck to all and GO WARLOCKS!!!!
