That's great discgirl, not sure who I slandered, but that's okay. It is great that you are so gramaticly correct, I on the other hand could care less, as I am not being tested here. Also, this is a chat forum with open topics and so happens the forum here is labeled Abilene disc golf. So, I would think that this pertains to this forum and really dont think you all care what I shot today in Abilene. That also is a bold statement saying that EVERYONE can enjoy something when we all know that everyone is different and that everyone has different opinions and different preferences. So, unless everyone is a sheep and just falls in line I dont think that works. Maybe if there were open meetings some of this could be brought to the table and not brought up in a chat forum. I for one have nothing to hide and dont mind voicing my opinion, as if everyone didnt already know that. If you feel so empowered by correcting me, then I am sure you can correct this statement and stay on your little high horse( maybe tell me how I could talk with a board, maybe you meant board members). Also, not trying to ruin any group, just giving my two cents that which I am entitled to. You should take you own advice and shut your mouth!!!

Also, Donavan, instead of blowing goats, try putting their back legs in you boots and walk towards a cliff. All they do is back up...so I have heard.

To my personal knowledge YOU WERE invited to a meeting and did not show. I know for a fact that there have been two other local golfers that have sat in on the meetings, one of them just showed up the night that you were supposed to be so he sat in instead of you. What I don't understand is that we all voice our opinion just at the right time and place and not on-line behind a computer (though that is what i am doing now) and you feel like this is the right time and place.

Anytime that there is an issue; all that goes around is SLANDER about who is not doing what they are supposed to (which what you don't seem to understand is that there are channels that have to be gone through in order to do things at the course(s) or we risk getting them shut down.) or its someone didn't do this or that right, everyone that is a board member has a life outside of ADGA, not everything can be done in the time that you want. Everything takes time, remember for almost everything we have to go through the city (and we all know they have bigger things to deal with, well in their eyes) and because it is really only one person that handles it all, and he cant do it all himself (I have seen him ask you to join on a work day and you have some reason why you cant.)

Other than that can we all please just go ahead and forget that this even happened; and continue to do what we love, play golf! Their is no reason to taint it with all of this he said this or he isn't doing that all that is coming out of it is anger and animosity which does not help support the growth of the sport in the area; in my opinion if you are not willing to help or have a part in it don't whine and cry about it!

I really had promised myself that I would respond to this junk again, but I just can't help myself. Slander is the same as defammation of character or, more simply, openly telling lies about a person to make them look bad in public. So let's see...you called Pete lazy and a liar, you called Allan a thief, and basically called Jerry a tyrant. Pretty sure none of those are the truth, though I honestly don't know any of them very well.

Funny that you should mention my high horse -- I did grow up on a ranch -- but really, when you look at all the ranting you have done in the past few days on this message board, I would suggest that YOU are the one who is on his high horse. I bet you that Jerry would gladly tell you when the next board meeting is, and would love for you to come and express your areas of concern to the whole board. You should call Jerry and ask for the next meeting date or heck, just ask on here..Hey Jerry, when's the next meeting??? If I had to guess though, I'd say that you probably won't show up because it's much easier to take pot shots from afar than to actually take full responsibility for the words that come out of you mouth. (By the way, if I knew you, I'd be saying this same thing to your face.)

As for me, I'm just going stop talking or even looking at this silly message board and go do something more important. As I said before, I'm new to disc golf, and I'd appreciate any help that some of you more experienced players could give a ball golf convert. San Angelo folks, since the Abilene folks are suddenly blowing up your message board (sorry!) I will give a shout out to you and say that some day, when I'm a respectable player, I'm going to come play there too!

Don't go discgirl...don't let this one discussion run you off. This website is more than a rant and rave message board(although it can turn into one). If you take this personally it will drive you mad! We are needing more women discgolfers on here and out on the courses to voice their opinions and ideas. Although this is a San Angelo based website, we feel like you Abileners are our 2nd cousins, so we have to love ya!

Once again Burner has commited a hit and run. He gets on the message board, starts a fire, then runs away like a coward. Looking back, I can only remember a few instances where he has actually had anything good to say. This board is meant to inform and improve the sport of disc golf. All that Burner is doing is throwing mud, which can be done in person! I have found that it is much better to settle problems in person, rather than over the phone, or much less on a discussion board.

Discgirl... you really shouldn't let this stop you from visiting the discussion board. Burner has one of the "fits" about every few months. Too bad you got caught up in it.

The site can be used to hash out issues as sometimes it is hard with kids, family, and just life in general to get together and do things. As I said before, some things are better off done in person(like saying someone maybe stealing from the club with out any actual proof), but in some instantace "silly message boards" are helpful!

Also Abilene Disc Golf has their section on this board to use.....so keep using it. That is what it is here for!

Discgirl, you don't have to wait till you are a respectible DGer...just come play next time you are down this way. As I said we have a womens only mini that is played on Saturday's and most of the girls that attend haven't been playing regularly but a month or so. And don't let this agrument run you away from the DISCussion board, there is a lot of information to be found on here for both Abilene DG and S.A. DG. Hope you visit regularly...even if it's to let us know how your are progressing in the sport!

Heck I'd personally like to thank Burner420 for his posts....all it has done is heavily increase the traffic on the site as well as get a bunch of new members signed up. Think we had like 11 members on yesterday, that is GREATNESS!!! I just hope all the "newbies" to the DISCussion board continue to visit onces the issue at hand cools down. I'm glad to have all you Abileneians on! \:D/

boohoo!!! You bunch of sissys with all you feelings. Jason your right and your welcome, but everyone has to run out and see what I have written. It is funny though how everyone thinks they know what they are talking about, when really they dont. Pete you talk as if you have a life outside of the course, when your there everyday allday and what is with you saying that you have seen "him" ask me to help out on a work day. Who is "him" and why do you just say I or me. JC your the coward and bring it to my face and we will see who the real man is. All I ever get when I bring these issues up to the adga's officer is "go fuck yourself"...what a way to represent the great club that I was supposedly invited to their meeting, althought no location or address was ever presented. I guess I am just supposed to smell it out from the stench it creates. Anyone fell free to post what ever you want and dont let me tell you what or what not to post, because this IS a open chat forum regardless of what some people might believe.

While this is an open forum and I appreciate everyone voicing their opinions, I would like to ask everyone to try and retain their composure and keep responces civil. I understand it is difficult, and often improper, to remain silent when you disagree about something you are pasionate about - I only ask that you try to keep from turning a disagreement into an argument, and that argument into a fight.

I would like to let this message board continue to be an outlet for anyone wishing to voice their opinions, however I will not allow personal attacks to go unchecked. If you have issues you need to discuss personally - use the private message feature. I don't have time or the desire to play babysitter.

Gary Neal and Brandon Young will be guests at out next board meeting (Dec 7). Gary called me last night and said that he and Brandon had a good long talk last night and requested that they both be present at the next meeting, and I thought that was a great idea. I look forward to getting everything out in the open and putting this bonfire to rest.

Come on everyone.....lets stop this message board back and forth stuff. Gary and I tried to get on early enough this morning to let everyone know that he and Brandon would be at the next board meeting. We hoped to try and head off further bickering. Pete posted before we could make it. Now Brandon has reacted. Lets stop it here please. Everyone involved is going to meet face to face in a few weeks. Then everyone can say their peace.

We saved tags....their coming to Eola :-) Yes, it was a fantastic turnout...Alan did a GREAT job of marketing the hell out of it with flyers, word of mouth, handing out individual flyers to anyone and everyone he saw....really went well. I would have been happy with 40 showing up...so needless to say it exceeded my expectations.

The first Wild Hair in 2004, we had 54 players show up. 2005 we had 58. That includes players from all over this region of Texas. For the membership drive, all the players except for 3 were LOCAL! That gives you some perspective on how things have grown in just 5 years. We had 19 show up at the mini Saturday, and there were probably another 20 or so casual players out there. Thats becoming the norm....4 or 5 groups playing ALL the time, if its not too cold. I know you guys are seeing similar growth.

Now, I hope this growth turns into PARTICIPATION! Thats when club growth will REALLY occur.
