Hey Burner...or anyone familiar with DFW disc golf for that matter.

Me and Patty are going to a Pens vs. Stars game on March 1st. We are probably going up on Saturday, and I'd like to get a new course in up that way either on Saturday afternoon, or sunday morning before the game(it's a 2pm start I think). I've heard a lot of good things about Rockwall, but also about cider hill. What's the best course up there in your opinion? I think we will be staying in Dallas, so it will probably need to be some what close.

let me know what you think....and if you want to give us the "tour".

I have not played Rockwall, but have only heard good things. It is on the otherside of the metroplex from me, so it is about an hour to get there. It is a championship caliber course. If I were to suggest any course it would be the newest and badest course...Gateway Park...it is a must if you are up here. Brandon Melton did a great job designing it and it will be one of the most played by that time. I would love to show you two around any of the courses up here and that would be a good on, but if you want to play Rockwall it is a good one to play also. Cederhill is two courses right beside each other and is one of my favs, just not the same caliber as the other two. Dont forget about Zboaz... an average of 450 casuals playing it a day and atleast 20 to 30 night golfers out there every night!!!

I will mark March 1 in my books and look forward to playing with some fellow West Texans!!!

You should free up your weekend and give us a tour!!! Definately want to play somewhere else than ZBoaz. Nothing against this course, just want to play somewhere different!!!

Yeah, Patty and myself played Zboaz(and then I've played it a second time) a few years back. VERY FUN COURSE, but I'd rather play something I haven't played yet. So Rockwall, or Gateway seems to be the answer. I'd like to play cederhill also, but don't know if we'll have time to get 2 courses in or not. So that may have to wait till the actual tourney(one I am going to try and hit, although I haven't checked dates...hope it not on marlbe falls boat race weekend).

The reason I was thinking Rockwall was, I was talking to Rockin Jon about it at the Ice Bowl and that was the one he suggested, don't know if he has played Gateway yet or not. Anyway we'll get a plan lined out and be in touch about it for sure.

The game is on March 1st, so it maybe the day before that we actually play.

Sounds good!! I know for sure Rockin has not played gatway. Only 130 of Funkytowns finest have played for the Hangover Classic on Jan 1. By March 1 the course should have the baskets in. It only had temp baskets in for the Classic, because they are waiting on the grant to be finalized so they dont get stolen and Brandon M wont loose any money. He has all 18 baskets but doesnt want to risk them getting stolen. If it is not in Rockwall is the answer.

So what's the word on Gateway? We're about a week out from this. Didn't know if the baskets were going to be in or not, or if we were going to hit Rockwall instead?

I will have to check on that, but I will be letting you know. Andy and Juice are going to be down playing the two B tiers that are happening here that weekend. Andy wanted me to play in them, but I will be playing with you, instead. It will save me some money that way.

Glad to hear Gateway is a go, cause Dallas lost to freakin St. Louis last night, and Turco looked horrible. If Dallas is going to get their butts whipped, at least I can play an awesome disc golf course!!!
