Tuesday is here and so is this week’s update. Just to let those of you who are PDGA members, ratings have been updated as of today. This week we have a full minis schedule ready to go, but with a little twist to Wednesday’s mini. Saturday is the one and only hEArdIMorE Experience, a unique tourney that was actually my first ever tourney to play in…and one I know I wouldn’t want to miss and haven’t since the first one I played in! Registration for the Menage A Trois is also open, the player pack deadline is getting closer and closer…so start forming those teams now instead of at the last second. While the 9th Annual Abilene Wild Hair is still a little over a month away, it’s time for it to start popping up on your radar.
MINIS
Next Monday the ladies will be at North Concho with a teetime of 6pm.
This Wednesday’s mini will be at Brentwood Park. The format is set for random doubles with a teetime of 6pm. I am going to try and get there early enough to set up the backwards course to change things up a little. I know there are several “newer” faces at the minis these days, several of which I am guessing have not played the backwards layout.
Saturday is set for handicapped singles at South Concho, but I image it will not make since the Heardimore is this Saturday. If you do go, be sure to take the handicaps and get the score cards turned into a board member for updating. 10am teetime.
Sunday’s Lake mini is scheduled for random doubles starting at 2pm.
HEARDIMORE EXPERIENCE ‘Take 9’
It’s almost here…the one…the only…The hEArdImoRE Experience!!! I know I can not wait for the fun that is to be had this coming Saturday at the lake course. For those of you who have never been to a Heardimore tourney, it is a lot like the innova game ript, but with waaay better cards and way less rules. Basic idea is the TD decides how many cards you will get to start the round to play on not only your card mates, but anyone you want to play them on…even if they are in a different division you can play most any card on anyone at any time.
Once again Mark out at Bright Brewing will be a sponsor of the event and will be donating a 5 gallon keg of his finest! Joe’s Ice House is also once again sponsoring a keg of beer for the event as well. So BIG THANKS to those guys for supplying us with some adult refreshment!
Signups are day of only and will start at 8.30 – 9am –
This means first come first serve on event shirts. (except to the very few who took the time to reply that they would be there…your shirts will be reserved)
Players meeting to follow signups
Teetime shortly after that.
Entry:
Adv. $30
Int. $25
Nov. $20
(divisions maybe combined depending on entries and signup numbers)
I’ve heard a few of the ideas from this year’s TD Cookie…and it sounds like it is really going to enhance the Heardimore Experience once again. I can’t wait!!!

5-8-2012
Well, I apologize for the late in the day weekly update this week…but I wanted to give some people enough time to answer the question of “to move the Wednesday mini this week”, or “not to move the Wednesday mini this week. The outcome, move the Wednesday mini for this week. The hEaRDimoRe is coming to take you away haha, hoho, hihi…And it’s only a week and a half away!! The Menage A Trois is the only other tourney really on the radar at this point, and that is about 1 month away, with a player pack sign up deadline a week before the event. Other than that we have a full week of minis to look forward to this week.
MINIS
The Women’s Mini will be at Brentwood Park next Monday, with a teetime of 6pm.
“The Move” I mentioned above is due to all the rain we have gotten and the fact that Picnic Bend will probably either under water, or to muddy to cross the river this week. So we are moving this week’s Wednesday mini to North Concho Park…might still be muddy, but I promise not as muddy at the landing area for the bridge(again if it’s not under water like it is today). Teetime will stay 6pm, we will play 20 holes, and it will be random doubles.
Saturday’s mini will be at South Concho with a teetime of 10am. Format this week is random doubles.
Sunday’s Lake mini, which I am not even sure is making any more? Anyway it’ss scheduled for handicapped singles with a teetime of 2pm. Although it is Mother’s Day…so what are you doing playing disc golf anyway…go see your mother or you baby’s mama!!!! Ha!
hEArDimORe Experience ‘take 9’
So I don’t know why, but this year’s Heardimore keeps reminding me of the song “There Coming To Take Me Away HAHA...HOHO…HEHE!!!” Are there any of you out there that remember the rock station coming to town in the mid-to-late 80’s and played that song for like a month straight trying to set some record? Well whether you do, or are too young to…go youtube it. If you do it will bring back some memories, if not…well at least you’ll know what I am talking about.
Anyway back to the point…The hEArDimORe is coming, and coming fast. May 19th is the date. For those that do not know what the Heardimore is all about, it is basically a birthday celebration for 2 of San Angelo’s long time dger’s…Randy Heard and Cody “juice” Larimore. Now in it’s 9th year the Heardimore is like no other tourney we put on….think Get RIPT Wednesday on steroids! The basic idea is you get some cards at the start of the tourney and you get to “screw with your buddies” all day long while having a great time on the disc golf course. With new TDs this year, Cookie and Coby,I know I can’t wait to see what is in store for us at this year’s 9th Annual hEArDImOre Experience.
Entry:
Adv. $30
Int. $25
Nov. $20
(divisions maybe combined depending on entries and signup numbers)
Registration: Day of registration only from 8:30-9am
Players meeting soon to follow
Teetime soon to follow the players meeting…probably 9:30ish.
If you are on Facebook or the CVDGA DISCussion board, please look up this event page and let us know you are coming so we know an about amount of shirts to make for the event. So far there are not many that have said they are going to be there, and I am willing to bet there are some that are coming that haven’t. Don’t get mad if you don’t get a shirt and are one that didn’t make it known you were going to be there.

Weekly update time of the week once again. This week we have a full mini schedule ahead of us. The hEArdIMorE take 9 is getting closer and closer. Full info for the 4th Annual Ménage A Trois is ready to be released…which means time to start working on those teams!
Before we get into this week’s update I’d like to send out a big THANK YOU to Jack, Carl, and Patty for bringing out their mowers and mowing the entire park Saturday the course back to looking like it should. Hated to see the fairways go away, but it sure looks nice all mowed. I’d also like to thank Cookie, Gary, and Sean for weed eating and emptying the trash cans. The Island hole part of the work day was cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
MINIS
The next ladies mini will be at ASU next Monday. Teetime is 6pm.
Wednesday’s mini is set for Handicapped singles at Brentwood Park. Teetime is 6pm.
Saturday is also set for handicapped singles at North Concho. Teetime is 10am. This will be the 2nd round of singles at N.C.
Sunday’s Lake mini will be random doubles starting at 2pm.
And just something to look forward to…May has a 5th Wednesday!!!

Weekly update time of the week once again. This week we have a full CVDGA mini schedule. Abilene is having a 1 day fundraiser event in Sweetwater this weekend. The hEArdImoRe is next up on the local tourney scene and is only a few weeks away. The Ménage A Trois is less than 2 months away so the time is now to start forming teams. Other than that there is possibly a work day happening this weekend, stay tuned to the CVDGA DISCussion board for more info on that if you are free this Saturday.
Before we get into this week’s update, I’d like to first off send out a BIG THANK YOU to all those that helped Chanz put on the West Texas Disc Golf Champions Tourney this past weekend. Events like this don’t just happen they take a lot of work and preparation to pull them off smoothly, and that is exactly the way the tourney seemed…at least from the player side of things. So thanks to all the InnerPole guys for having us up this weekend I know I had a great time. I’d also like to congratulate the CVDGAer’s that made payout this weekend….Congrats to: Mooseknuckle for 4th in Open as well as taking a couple of skin in the final 9, Seth for taking 7th in INT., Clayton for 5th and Trey for 14th in Rec. Way to go guys!

Weekly update day of the week once again….and this week we have one of my favorite tourneys of the year in store of us this weekend. The annual West Texas Disc Golf Champions Tourney in Big Spring is this weekend! Are you signed up yet? We also have a full mini schedule lined up for the week. More hEArdIMorE info is ready to be announced. Also May is almost here, which means it’s time to start forming those Menage A Trois teams for the 4th annual team event in San Angelo this June.
Another work day this past weekend…which means it’s time to take a few seconds to thank some people for their help. First, HUGE THANKS to Jack Lowry for bringing out his tractor this past weekend. Not only did he show up early to Picnic to get most of the mowing around hole’s 1 and 2 done. He also loaded up and headed over to South Conch to mow the fairway on hole 4…as well as help save some backs by pulling rebar as we moved teeboxes that were rutted out at the Crush. I’d also like to thank the rest of the crew that showed up to help out…would have been a much longer day without these guys lending hand…or back as moving teeboxes is pretty labor intensive. Thanks to Michael, Trey, Muph, Cookie, and Coby for showing up and helping out. Be sure to thank these guys if you see them on the course!
MINIS
Next Monday the ladies will be meeting at North Concho for the weekly women’s only mini. Teetime is 6pm.
This Wednesday will be random doubles at Brentwood Park. Teetime is also 6pm.
Saturday will be handicapped singles at South Concho. Teetime is 10am. This one may or may not make as I know a lot of the normal Saturday mini goers’ are heading to Big Spring this weekend.
Sunday’s Lake mini is set for random doubles. Though the same holds true for this mini as the Saturday mini, it may or may not make. Really to tell you the truth, I’m not even sure the Lake minis are making these days, as no money has been collected for the club in quite some time for Sunday. At any rate, teetime is 2pm.
Big Spring’s WTDGCT
Word this morning is there are 70 players signed up so far…which means there is only 5 player packs left of the advertised 75. Are you one of them? If not what are you waiting for? Get signed up and save the TD some work Saturday morning. If you are signed up encourage some of your buddies to get signed up…I think everyone would love to see Big Spring hit that magic 100 player mark this weekend. So let’s do our part and show up with some good numbers from the CVDGA.
