Couple of things I wanted to update everyone on that has come up since yesterday’s update.
Today’s mini at Brentwood will be a putter and midrange only challenge. So take the drivers out of the bag and lighten the load! It will still be random doubles and will still start at 6pm.
SteveO’s night glow series is being pushed back this Saturday to next Saturday so there will be back to back Saturday nights to finish out the qualifying rounds.
Ménage A Trois dates look to be set for July 20th and 21st. Now get those teams formed and keep an eye out for registration info in the next few weeks.
Weekly update time of the week once again. We have a full mini schedule this week. We also have a big work day setup for this weekend at North Concho Park, one we could use some extra bodies at. So if you have filled out your work release form and can make it…even if just for a little while, that would be GREAT! The Abilene Wild Hair is the next big event in the area, and online signups are open. The Menage a Trois is the next event for San Angelo, do you have your 3 man team yet?
Big thanks to Ashley, Cookie, and Sara for running and helping with the Heardimore. I had a great time as always at this event and look forward to seeing what the 11th will bring us next year. Congrats to Beto for winning the INT division and Ashley/Carl for winning the Advanced division. Even though I did play a card that said “I win no matter what, no cancels, no over rules”…I’ll let you have it! Happy Birthday one last time to Juice!

Wednesday is set for random doubles at Brentwood Park. 6pm teetime. There is a question on the CVDGA Facebook page of if we should do a little something different this week. The questions: To play tailgater, or play mids and putters only? Post if you have a suggestion!
Saturday is set for handicap singles at South Concho. 10am teetime. I know I won’t be there as I’ll be at the work day…so if this does make someone be sure to have scorecards and handicaps.
Sunday is random doubles at the lake. 2pm teetime. (not sure the status of this mini?)
Work Day at North Concho
We have yet another work day set for North Concho this weekend. We will be installing flypad teepads like at Brentwood this weekend. The plan is for a few of us to meet up and build the boxes Friday night. Then Saturday plant the boxes, do the dirt work and install the rubber. This is a big task so we could use all the help we could get. Just remember you must be on the work list, meaning you must have a release for filed with me before Thursday. There is a good possibility that this will go into Sunday, so if you can’t help Saturday, but can Sunday this just maybe your chance to help.
We also need to weed-eat Picnic Bends hole 1 landing area and hole 2’s walk way. So if you end up coming and do not have a work release form, bring a weed-eater or mower and you can still help out over there. (if you can’t make Saturday, this work day is sure to spill over to Sunday so come out Sunday and take care of Picnic for us).
Work day will start at 9am Saturday. Tools needed will be sledge hammer to drive the rebar through the wood frames, something to tamp chat with, and probably some shovels and rakes to smooth the box areas. A chaulk box, a good straight edge and utility knifes with good blades to cut the rubber.
Tuesday is here…early…but it’s here. This week we have the one…the only….the heARdImoRe Experience round 10 happening at the lake on Saturday! We also have minis on both Wednesday and Sunday. We have a work day scheduled for next week at North Concho. The Menage A Trois is still trying to be scheduled, but is coming, so get your teams together. Plus the 10th Annual Abilene Wild Hair coming up in June.

10th Annual heArDimOre Experience
As I’ve probably mentioned several times, this was my first ever tourney…and one that I really love the spirit of. Yes there is the competition side of it and that is great and all, but mostly there is a lot of screwing with your buddies and that is just some fun stuff! I’ve seen a lot of crazy things happen during this event, some I could mention…some I can not! What I do know is I am excited that it is Heardimore week once again, and can not wait till Saturday!
If you have never been to this event: Basically it is like our Get Ript rounds, but with more cards and less rules! You get a certain amount of cards to start with, usually around 20-25 cards for the day. These cards ranges from help you cards to hurt your cardmates cards and all kind of stuff in between! You can play these cards on anyone you want…even if they are not on your card or even if they are not in the same division. Some events in the past, if you have cards left over you were penalized. I do not know all that is in store for us for round 10 of the Heardimore this weekend…but I am sure Ashley and Cookie have ‘cooked’ up something good for us!
The history of the event is that Randy Heard and Cody Larimore have a birthday this week on the same day. (thinking it’s the 10th?) So 10 years ago Richard, Carl, and some of the other “old school” disc golfers decided to throw a disc golf tourney birthday bash for these two. And while the names running it have changed, the fun of the event has only gotten better and better as it’s gone along. So come out and celebrate with us!

We have yet another work day for North Concho scheduled for May 18th and will more than likely carry over to the 19th. If you want to help, but have not filled out your work release form please do so and come out and help. We will need all we can get!

Abilene has opened up online registration for the 10th annual Wild Hair. We are working hard to get a date lined up for the Ménage A Trios. We also have another work day setup for North Concho coming up in a few weeks. So if you would like to help please get your work release form filled out with me.

Going to keep this short this week since it’s already Wednesday and I’ve got a busy day going. We have a full mini schedule this week. The heARdiMorE is coming….and sounds like it’s going to be awesome yet again. The next work day at North Concho has been set.
I want to thank Sean, Patty, Cookie, Gary and Coby for making the work day this last Saturday. We got a lot done and the park looked great when we were finished! Thanks for you guys hard work!
