Tuesday is here once again, which can only mean weekly update time fo the week is here once again. This week we’ve got a full schedule of minis happening. For those that signed up the Ace Race is only a couple of weeks out. Also Lubbock’s Big Arms on the Brazos is only a couple of weeks out. Just an FYI here, but as some know Carl is up in Indiana competing for a Grandmaster World Championships, and “race” starts today. For anyone interested in following his progress along the way here is a link to the results page that should be updated daily at the least. http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=9551 Read moreComments: 0 | posted by Mike in Weekly Update on Tuesday 27 July 2010 - 08:53:25PM
Update 7-20-10
Weekly update time is here once again: First and foremost on the list for this week is ACE RACE pre-registration…the deadline is approaching quickly! We’ve got a full schedule of minis happening this week. The next area tourney is only a couple of weeks away up in Lubbock for those not wanting to play in the local Ace Race. After Lubbock it will time to head a little farther north to Amarillo for the Top of Texas Open.
Before we get into this week’s update I’ve got a couple of things to go over:
First I’d like to wish Carl “Wamski” the best of luck up in Crown Point, Indiana this week. Think he is the only player from West Texas heading to worlds this year, so he’s not only representing the CVDGA he’s representing all of West Texas for us. Good luck Carl!
Secondly I’d like thank all the players that traveled up to Levelland this past weekend to play in the Lighthouse. I think we had a good size group up there and from the payout list we were rewarded as several of the CVDGA made payout this weekend. Congrats goes out to: Nick and Patty for cashing in Pro, Jeanne for taking 4th in womens, Reese, Patrick, and Jonathan for finishing 2nd-4th in Intermediate, and myself for taking home 3rd place in rec. From talking to several of the players sounded like everyone that went had a great time and really enjoyed the courses. Hopefully we’ll bring a few more along next time! Update 6-29-10
Weekly update time is here once again, and boy do we have a mini to look forward to this week! We’ve got 3 minis in town this week. The next BIG event for the area is set for Levelland in a few weeks. Plus I’ve got some dates you might want to save on your calendar for up-coming events both here in San Angelo as well as the surrounding DG area. Also want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July weekend….HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!
Before we get into the weekly update I would like to congratulate several CVDGAer’s that went up to compete in the Abilene Wild Hair this weekend and came away in the payout. Carly Edwards took 1st place in the INT. Women’s division holding on in the last round to win by 1 stroke. In the INT men’s division we had several make payout. Topping the list was Matt Harris who took 1st place as well by just 1 stroke, followed by Tako in 4th, Jonathan in 7th and Robert in 10th. In the advanced master division CVDGA member Junior Hernandez took 3rd place. In the advanced division Kirk Trevena was the only one to make a payout spot holding on to the 10th spot, but Mike Keane also deserves some congrats as well. While he finished just a little out of the payout in 14th, he ended his weekend an ACE on his last hole. Not a bad way to end it….Carl Wamsley also finished up his weekend in the payout taking home 2nd place in the Open Masters division. Not to bad of a weekend of the CVDGAer’s that made the trip up this weekend, way to represent guys and gal! Read moreComments: 0 | posted by Mike in Weekly Update on Tuesday 29 June 2010 - 03:28:42PM
