WHOOHOOOO….CRUSH WEEK IS HERE!!! Anyone out there excited yet? If you haven’t signed up for the Crush it’s not to late, registrations will close Thursday evening. Well not only is it Crush week, it’s also the start of the spring/summer mini rotation this week. That means handicapped singles this week at Brentwood Park! So we have a lot to look forward to this week in disc golf locally!
I’d like to thank all the Sponsors for this year’s Crush on the Concho, as well as those who gathered in sponsors.
Please support these people any way you can as they are directly supporting your disc golf habits and payout!!!

MINIS

Every Wednesday minis are back starting this week!!! We’ll go over the full schedule in next week’s update.
Wednesday – Handicapped singles at Brentwood, 6pm teetime. We’ll still need lights to finish up the round!
No Saturday or Sunday minis this week.

11th Annual Crush on the Concho

Well if you are one that likes to drag your feet or are on the fence about playing this weekend: It’s not too late to sign up for this year’s biggest disc golf event in West Texas. And really THE EVENT that supports and funds all other disc golf in San Angelo for the year. If you are not supporting this one, basically you are not supporting the long term disc golf scene in San Angelo. So get on the World Wide Web and get your name on that player list! You have till Thursday evening to get it done! http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/607

The players list is up to 115 last time I checked!!!

Friday doubles will start at 2pm and will be played on the newly revamped alternate course.

It will be a flex start so you can start anytime between 2pm and 5pm or so as long as there is another team on your card.
Cost is $10 per person

Saturday
All players must check in at Middle Concho(the lake) to get your player pack and pool assignments.

Check in is from 8am – 8:45 am

For those starting at South Concho once you have checked in and have your player pack and pool assignments you can head to the course as you will have your own player meeting there that will be held by Cookie.

Now come on Friday so we can get this party started!

Think that should cover us for this week…we’ll either see you at the park Wednesday or Friday!

2/26/2013

Weekly update time of the week once again. This week the big info to get out is about registration for The 11th Annual Crush on the Concho. We are still getting calls from people who say they have been told by someone that they can signup the Friday of the tourney. THIS IS NOT CORRECT, the only way to play in the Crush is to signup online…so please spread the word on that! The 2nd deadline for Crush sponsorship is this Friday. We are in the last week of our “fall/winter” mini schedule, which means this week is the last off Wednesday night, but the rest of the weekend minis are still on the schedule for this week. Dates for the next big tourney in the area have been set for April 13th and 14th in Big Spring.

MINIS

No Wednesday mini this week!
Saturday is random doubles at North Concho. 10am teetime
Sunday is the last skins match of the year…2pm teetime. There will be no Sunday mini next weekend due to the Crush, but after that we’ll go back to a singles/dubs rotation.

11th Crush on the Concho

I can not stress this enough…the only way to play in the Crush is to sign up online! Please spread the word as we are getting calls almost daily with people saying they heard they can signup in person at the tourneys. That is not the case! So this means someone is spreading some bad info.

3 rounds of 18
Bring your own doubles Friday March 8th –
Cost: $10 (signup day of, you don’t have to be playing the Crush to play this)
Flex start from 2-5pm.
Played on: alternate course.
Long Drive Sunday after 3rd round $2
Saturday RANDOM DOUBLES NIGHTGLOW $5
Ace Pot $5
Tourney Registration ONLINE ONLY @- http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/607

Sat 8-8:45am Player Check-In at the Middle Concho (Lake Course) for players packs and pool assignment.
It is Very important to know your pool assignment because if your pool begins at South Concho then your players meeting will be at South Concho and not the lake.

If you want a T-shirt in your players pack for the Crush you have until 8:00 pm CST Sunday to sign up. Any entries after that will not be getting a shirt. That is 5 1/2 days left to get a shirt.

Get these turned in to Jeanne before March 1st, wake_n_jeanne©yahoo.com

2/19/2013

Well…well…Weekly update once again, and I’m even on the right day this week! This week we have a full mini schedule. If a tourney is more what you are looking for you can head down to the 4th Annual Junction Freezer happening Saturday. Crush on the Concho registration are starting to roll in…are you one of the 40 signed up? Don’t wait to long the player pack registration deadline is coming! Also the CVDGA is looking for 2013 members for the club, have you renewed your 2013 membership? We hit 60 members last year let’s see if we can get close to that number again this year.

MINIS

Wednesday is set for some random doubles at Picnic Bend this week. Teetime is 6pm. Seems like everyone liked “the game” at the last mini so we may try another one this week.

Also this is the last official NightGlow mini of the Winter/Fall schedule. The 1st Wednesday of March will kick off the Spring/Summer schedule…so singles rounds are almost here!

Saturday’s mini is set for some handicapped singles at South Concho. The course has been adjusted for where it’s going to be at the Crush, this would be a good practice round for anyone looking to prepare. 10am teetime

Sunday will continue being Skins for another couple of weeks at the lake. 2pm teetime there. Again almost everything is set for the Crush at the lake course, so hitting this mini would also be some good practice.

4th Annual Junction Freezer

Well I was hoping to make this one, but things have come up and I’m not going to be able to…hopefully some other CVDGAer’s will make the trip and show these guys some support!

February 23rd at the Junction Course
Entry: $25

This will be 1 rounds of singles, then the 2nd round will be semi-random doubles….meaning you will be paired up according to your score.

1st Place trophies to each division.

In the past, this tournament raised funds for the Meals on Wheels program in Junction. This year it is going to be for one family that has ran into bad times and could use our help. Anything that we can donate to raffle and/or ctp would greatly be appreciated.

2/13/2013

Well the weekly update day has come and gone…which means I am a day late getting this out this week. I’ve got a really busy week going on here at work so this week’s update is going to be a little on the short side. We’ve got weekend minis set for the week, but not Wednesday mini. The Junction Freezer is next weekend. Crush signups are starting to roll in…are you signed up yet? But the main thing for this week is Crush on the Concho Sponsorships are needed, and we need your help in gathering them!!!

MINIS

No Wednesday mini this week. But we are in the last month of the winter mini schedule so starting March we’ll go back to every Wednesday
Saturday’s mini is set for random doubles at North Concho with a 10am teetime.
Sunday we’ll stick to skins through the month, 2pm teetime.

Crush Sponsorships Help

**IMPORTANT**The Crush is coming and we are once again looking for sponsors for the event. There are several different levels of sponsorship ranging from as little as $50 up to as much as $500. The different levels offer different levels of exposure from a logo on the 150ish shirts printed to individual hole signs, to Sole Friday doubles sponsors and promotional banners at HQ. If you, or you know someone that might like to help the local disc golf scene by sponsoring the biggest event in West Texas please help anyway you can. We have sponsorship packages available that we can email you if you would like them to help. You can let either myself or the TD Jeanne Moore know you would like one.

Deadlines to keep in mind:
February 15th is the deadline to get into the players book
March 1st is the deadline to get on the T-shirt.
