2013 CVDGA Board Members
It's once again time to start thinking about and looking for the 2013 CVDGA Board Members. If anyone is interested in running for a position on the board please post it here, or let a current board member know so they can post it here.
Deadline to announce your running is January 12th, 2013 Here is the link to the page you can post if you feel so inclined.
Well I hope everyone had a great long holiday weekend over Thanksgiving and got to spend plenty of time with family and friends. We are on another off week as far as Wednesday minis go, but we are scheduled for the weekend minis to happen. Other than that there is really not a lot of disc golf happening this week. So other than reminding you about the Ice Bowl coming up at the end of next month and asking for anyone ready to volunteer to be a 2013 CVDGA Board Member this update is going to be short and to the point.
MINI
No Wednesday mini.
Saturday is set for Handicapped Singles at North Concho. Teetime is 10am.
Sunday is the weekly skins match at the lake. Teetime is 2pm.
6th Annual Eola “2 disc and a mini challenge” Ice Bowl
This is still a ways off, but for now save the date Jan. 26th.
2013 CVDGA Board Members
I know for sure there is one board member that will not be re-upping for this year and maybe more. If you would like to run for a spot let it be known through the CVDGA DISCussion board. A thread will be started in the next 2 weeks for those intentions to be known.
Think that is about it for this week’s update…we’ll see you in the park!
Well after taking last week off from getting out the weekly update, it’s time to get back on it…especially since we do have a mini this Wednesday! We also have the weekend minis to look forward to. Other than the Eola Ice Bowl at the end of January, I haven’t heard of much in the way of tourneys in the area. With the end of the year approaching it’s getting closer to time really start looking for anyone willing to run for a CVDGA board member spot.
Before we get into this week’s update I’d like to wish all the CVDGA’ers a very happy Thanksgiving. Hope you enjoy lots of food, friends and family over the holidays and remember we do have a lot to be thankful for!! If you are traveling be safe on the roads!
MINIS
Wednesday’s nightglow round is set for Picnic Bend park with a teetime of 6pm.
Saturday will be doubles at North Concho with a 10am teetime.
Sunday’s skins match at the lake is on for 2pm.
2013 CVDGA Board Members
So the end of November is almost here and it’s time to start looking for people that want to run for the CVDGA board. The positions to run for are President, V.P., Secretary, Treasurer, Course Maintenance, Webmaster, and Membership Director. If you wish to run for a spot you much make your intentions known at least 2 weeks before the Eola Ice Bowl, where our elections are held, in order to have your name on the ballots.
In the next few weeks I’ll start a new thread on the CVDGA DISCussion board for announcing this type of stuff. So for now just weigh the options and decide if this is the year you want to run to help the Club.
Think that is about it for this week’s update….We’ll see you in the park!

Well not only is it weekly update day, it is Election Day…did you vote yet? Anyway as the time has changed and the cooler nights are here, there really isn’t just a whole lot of disc golf happening in the area for the next little bit. At least we do have a full mini schedule this week. But this is also the month that the winter mini schedule takes over. Which means only 2 Wednesday minis a month. But with that it usually means the Saturday minis pick up steam and the Sunday skins matches start to pick up a little as well.
Want to Congratulate some people before we get into this week’s update, and thank a few others while I’m at it. First off Big Thanks to Mark for letting us once again converge on his place out in Eola this last weekend. I know I had a blast and I hope everyone else did as well. I also want to thank Patty for running the Ace Race for us once again, great job! Congrats goes out to Michael Nichols for taking 1st place, Cookie for 2nd place, SteveO for 3rd and Albert for 4th. I also want to Congratulate Johnny Deleon for earning his 1st Win in a pro division tourney at the Luck of the Draw this last Sunday.
MINIS
Well I was a week off last week when I mentioned the new mini schedule would be set last Tuesday…as the board meeting is today. So we’ll get the full Fall/Winter mini schedule lined out tonight and posted on the website in the morning. With that said we do still have a mini set for this Wednesday!!
Wednesday is set for random double night glow at Brentwood Park. 6pm teetime
Saturday will be at South Concho at 10am. (format TBD after tonight’s meeting)
Sunday’s skin match at the lake will be at 2pm.
Eola “2 disc and a mini” Ice Bowl challenge
So far this looks like the next event for the CVDGA…so mark your calendars for January 26th
2013 CVDGA Board Members
I mentioned this last week, but thought I’d re-mention it again this week. If you feel like you have something to add, or just want to be more involved. The CVDGA will be holding elections for the 2013 year at the Ice Bowl. If you feel like it’s your turn to take a turn and helping the club please make your intentions know on the CVDGA board once we get a little closer to the end of the year. (I’ll start a thread a little close to that time) For now just put some thought into it.
We’ll see you at the park!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL THE CVDGA’ers!!! It’s weekly update day again and this seems like it might be the last of the busy weeks for disc golf for a little while. This week we have a full mini schedule, though Saturday’s mini might be pretty low turnout, but Wednesday’s mini should be awesome considering it’s GET RIPT WEDNESDAY WEEK ON HALLOWEEN!!. Especially since the Ace Race is this Saturday out in Eola. There is also a One Day Fun Day tourney happening this Sunday in Odessa. This is also the last week of the every Wednesday mini schedule, starting next week we’ll be on the new fall mini schedule that will be set tonight and posted very soon.
MINIS
Wednesday will be a spooky GET-RIPT-WEDNESDAY at North Concho. Teetime is 6pm and we’ll be playing the card game RIPT.
Saturday is also set for North Concho, but the format will be handicapped singles starting at 10am.
Sunday will be skins at the lake, 2pm teetime for that one.
ACE RACE in EOLA
For those that pre-registered for the event the Ace Race is finally here!
Check-in at Eola will start at 9am and we’ll be teeing off at about 10am.
The new layout for this event is a 10 holer that we’ll play twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. We’ll also have the option of adding holes to the day if we see things are going to get done earlier than we are ready for.
I can also tell you that the beer at Bright Brewing is VERY GOOD right now. The Farm Ale will be a big hit with all those that like a light crisp finishing beer, but if the Wind Mill Pale Ale is the one on tap you are in for a little flavor with a light hop finish. The Imperial Stout is also very good and much more easy drinking that most stouts you might have had. If more flavor is what you are looking for, ask Mark nicely enough and you just might get a BIG PRICK! This one costs a little more than the rest, but you won’t be disappointed if you are into IPAs. He will also have food available for purchase at the lunch break.
6th Annual Luck of the Draw

Don’t forget time change is the Saturday before…so don’t show up at 9:30 thinking it’s 8:30!

They are also having a Saturday random doubles round at 3:30 on Saturday that is $10 per person.
With the end of the year approaching already, it’s once again time to start asking yourself….is this the year I should run for a CVDGA Board Member spot? While it’s not time to post your intentions, it won’t be to much longer. So start putting some thought into it and see if you want to try and be all you can be fore the CVDGA.
Think that should do it for this week’s update…We’ll see you at the park!
