 Update 7-6-10 Tuesday is here already this week so it’s time to get you updated on all the DG happenings this week has for us. We’ve got a full schedule of minis for the first time in a couple of weeks this week. Which means the lake course should be going back in the ground at some point during the week. The Lighthouse on the Plains is the next big event for the area happening July 17-18. Ace Race registration is opening this week and will run through July 21st, so be sure to get signed up for it early.
MINIS
Tuesday the ladies will be at Brentwood Park for their mini. There is no cost to play the ladies mini, it’s just about getting the girls together and having an enjoyable night on the course with other disc golfin’ women. Plus it’s a great way to get ready for the mixed doubles division at the West Texas Doubles coming up in September. Teetime is set for 6pm.
Wednesday’s mini is also set for Brentwood this week with the format being handicapped singles. Teetime is 6pm for this one as well.
Saturday the mini is at South Concho, and the format is random doubles. Been a while since nothing else has been happening to cut out the random doubles at S.C….but this week we are in luck, that is if you like random doubles at S.C. - 10am teetime
Sunday will mark the return of the Sunday afternoon mini after a couple of weeks off due to events happening at the lake. The format for this weekend is handicapped singles, and the teetime is 2pm.
ACE RACE INFO
Ok so as we talked about last week the Ace Race date has been set for August 7th. We also talked about it being at the lake. This week I’ve got registration info for you – As most of you know the Ace Race is a pre-registration event only. The reason for this is we have to order a set number of player packs in from Discraft. So be sure to get signed up before the deadline.
You can register in a couple of ways:

Or let me know you need me to bring you a signup sheet to the mini and get it done there.

Cost:
$25 – that includes your 2 proto type discraft discs that must be used during the event. It also includes a hat, a supercolor mini, a sticker, and new to this year’s player pack a chrome finished bag tag.
(You do not have to be present to play in order to get a player pack. If you know you are not going to be here, or just don’t want to play….but know you want a player pack just sign up like you normally would if you were playing, but just let the TD know you won’t be there so he can set a side your player pack).
Rounds:
4 – 18 holes
(36 in the morning, 36 in the afternoon…..but remember you are only throwing 1 shot per hole, so it’s really not as much throwing as it sounds)

Teetime : 9:35am

Lighthouse on the Plains
July 17th & 18th is the next big event in the area, and it’s happening in Levelland,Texas. This is a PDGA B tier sanctioned event.
Online signups are open on both the PDGA website and www.dynamicdiscs.com
First 75 to signup get player packs.
3 rounds of 24 holes
All divisions are being offered
All Open - $60
All mens Advanced - $45
Womens Advanced -$40
Intermediate - $40
Rec. $40
Juniors $25
(add $10 for non PDGA member fees)
$5 optional Ace Pot.
Field limited to 120 players
Cookout for Players, Sponsors, and Staff Friday night starting at 7pm.
Bring your own doubles partner is set for Friday - $20 per team, flex start with last card going out at 5:30
