 7-17-2012 Weekly update time of the week is here. This week we have a couple of guys to keep an eye out for that are attending Worlds. We have a full mini schedule. The FlyInk Sizzler in Junction is getting closer and closer. Are you a current CVDGA member, well there is a free tourney just around the corner that you are eligible to play in, and possibly win some stuff. Then before you know it, it will be time for the 9th Annual West Texas Doubles in mid-September.
2012 Worlds Watch
This year the CVDGA has 2 representatives in Charlotte, N.C…..probably teeing off about now…attending the 2012 World Championships. Here is a link to the AMS leader board. http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/16468 Jonathan Gomez is in pool L and Kirk “MooseKnuckle” Trevena is in pool N. For those that don’t completely understand how this works. They will have 6 rounds between now and Friday in pool play with a reshuffle on pools towards the end of the week. If they are in the top so many after the reshuffle they make it to the semis on Saturday then there is another cut before the finals on Sunday. There is also a way to watch worlds live through this link http://www.discgolfplanet.tv/2012Worlds/broadcast although there is a charge for this for the first time this year. Good luck to these guys, but more importantly at an event like this HAVE A BLAST!!!!

3rd week of the month can only mean one thing….Brentwood Doubles is the location and format for this week. 6pm teetime
Saturday’s minis is set for handicap singles at South Concho with a teetime of 10am. Sure wish I was going to be here this weekend….
Sunday’s Lake mini is set for random doubles at 2pm.
Junction’s FlyInk Sizzler In Cahoots With Full Contact Disc Golf
This must be the year the FlyInk Sizzler is going to blow up on attendance as the pre-registration list is up to 90 players almost 2 weeks out. If you are planning on making this event don’t wait to much longer or it might just fill before you get in. Going to be a good time at the end of the month in Junction…will you be there?

CVDGA Member’s Only Tourney
The CVDGA Board members are wanting to put on a THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT member’s only tourney in August. This was the 1st year the club has reached the 50 player mark, and ended up blowing that away reaching 60+. This means disc golf is growing greatly in San Angelo, and we want to give a little appreciation back. This event will be free to play in, but you must be a current, dues paid, form filled out member before the event. There will be no member signups the day of….
There will be some CTP prizes and raffle prizes. The actual payout will be a free entry into the 2012 CVDGA Ace Race, a free 2013 CVDGA membership, and just for good measure…and life time Patty Fan club membership! 2nd place will receive a 2013 CVDGE Membership as well.
Location will be at the Sunken Garden on August 4th
Check in will be at 8am
Players meeting 8:30am
Teetime 8:55am or so….
