 8-14-2012 Weekly update time of the week once again. This week in local disc golf we have a full mini schedule on tap. We also have a work day on Saturday for those that have filled out their work release forms with me. Then another work day next week at Brentwood Park. There are a couple of area tourney that has popped up on the radar, first in Lamesa then in Lubbock. Then not long after these it will be West Texas Doubles time!
MINIS
The Wednesday mini will be at Brentwood park this week…I know I told you that last week, but this time I mean it! Format for the week is random doubles. 6pm teetime and as always $5 to play plus a $1 optional ace pot.
Saturday is scheduled for handicapped singles at South Concho, but with the work day going on this may or may not make. 10am teetime.
Sunday is random doubles at the lake with a 2pm teetime.
WORK DAY AT N.C.
The first work day to get ready for the upcoming doubles tourney is set for this Saturday at North Concho. If you are one of the people I have on file that have filled out your work release form, we would love to see you out! There will be 2 major things going on as long as everything falls into place. The main thing is to get the park mowed, weedeated, and blown off. So if you have any equipment that could help with that come on out! The other project will be to work on the island hole. The plan is to at least get a rock boarder around the island and possibly place weed-barrier and fill in the rest of the island with mulch.
Start time is: 7:00am
The 2nd work day will be at Brentwood Park to replace the rubber pads with new rubber!!!! The City has come up large for us and bought the club a new roll of rubber mat material. We will also be raising 4 or 5 of the teeboxes to hopefully prevent them from getting mowed over in the future. More details on this in next week’s update.

Yes Lamesa has a disc golf course, and from what I hear it will surprise you at how good it is, so if you have no plans for labor day weekend head north for some DG in the land of sand!
