Weekly update time of the week once again. This week we’ve got a full schedule of minis. There is a B tier tourney just a little to the north of us in Levelland this weekend. Also Ace Race registration is open for 1 1/2 more weeks, you must pre-register for this event to be able to participate. So get signed up soon if you want in!
MINIS
Ladies mini is tonight(Tuesday) at Picnic Bend. No cost to play, and teetime is set for 6pm. From what I hear turnout has been a little low lately….so if you know any Women Disc Golfers encourage them to attend these minis. They are a great way to get more women into CVDGA disc golf!!!
Wednesday is also at Picnic Bend Park with a teetime of 6pm. The format for this week’s hump-day mini is random doubles.
Saturday is set for Handicapped singles at South Concho this week. With several heading to Levelland this one could use some extra support if you are not heading that way. 10am teetime
Sunday – This week’s lake mini is set for random doubles at 2pm.
ACE RACE INFO
Registration is now open for this year’s 2010 Ace Race. As most of you know the Ace Race is a pre-registration event only. The reason for this is we have to order a set number of player packs in from Discraft 2 weeks before the event. So be sure to get signed up before the deadline.
You can register in a couple of ways:
Contact the TD – Brandn Moore 277-3725 or email him at brandn_mooore2000©yahoo.com
You can also print out the registration form http://discgolfacerace.com/downloads/2010reg.pdf and drop it off to either Brandn or any other board member.
Stop by Cortese Flag & Silkscreen and bring your $25(cash or check only….NO CREDIT CARDS)
Or let me know you need me to bring you a signup sheet to the mini and get it done there.

July 6th – July 21st

Cost:
$25 – that includes your 2 proto type discraft discs that must be used during the event. It also includes a hat, a supercolor mini, a sticker, and new to this year’s player pack a chrome finished bag tag.
(You do not have to be present to play in order to get a player pack. If you know you are not going to be here, or just don’t want to play….but know you want a player pack just sign up like you normally would if you were playing, but just let the TD know you won’t be there so he can set a side your player pack).
Rounds:
4 – 18 holes
(36 in the morning, 36 in the afternoon…..but remember you are only throwing 1 shot per hole, so it’s really not as much throwing as it sounds)
Player meeting 9:15am
Teetime : 9:35am

Lighthouse on the Plains
This weekend next big event in the area, and it’s happening in Levelland,Texas. So far there are several CVDGAer’s heading up that way this weekend. The course will surprise you if you’ve ever driven through Levelland…it’s not what you’d expect. Plus I hear they have done some new things to the course this year so it could be even better!
This is a PDGA B tier sanctioned event.
Online signups are open on both the PDGA website and www.dynamicdiscs.com
First 75 to signup get player packs.
3 rounds of 24 holes
All divisions are being offered
All Open - $60
All mens Advanced - $45
Womens Advanced -$40
Intermediate - $40
Rec. $40
Juniors $25
(add $10 for non PDGA member fees)
$5 optional Ace Pot.
Field limited to 120 players
Cookout for Players, Sponsors, and Staff Friday night starting at 7pm.
Bring your own doubles partner is set for Friday - $20 per team, flex start with last card going out at 5:30

West Texas Doubles
I know it’s early, but this year we are strongly suggesting early registration for this event to help save the TD some work the morning of. In addition to being able to sign up with Jeanne through snail mail, through a board member, we are offering online signups for the West Texas Doubles. That info should be up on www.dynamicdiscs.com in the next few days.
Signing up early is the only way to get a player pack, there is no limit to the amount of player packs…you just have to pre-register to get one. So once it starts getting a little closer to time make sure to get pre-registered for the fun that is the West Texas Doubles Championships!
Date for this year’s event is September 18th & 19th.
More info as it gets closer. If you would like a flyer just let me know….
