Weekly update time is here once again: First and foremost on the list for this week is ACE RACE pre-registration…the deadline is approaching quickly! We’ve got a full schedule of minis happening this week. The next area tourney is only a couple of weeks away up in Lubbock for those not wanting to play in the local Ace Race. After Lubbock it will time to head a little farther north to Amarillo for the Top of Texas Open.
Before we get into this week’s update I’ve got a couple of things to go over:
First I’d like to wish Carl “Wamski” the best of luck up in Crown Point, Indiana this week. Think he is the only player from West Texas heading to worlds this year, so he’s not only representing the CVDGA he’s representing all of West Texas for us. Good luck Carl!
Secondly I’d like thank all the players that traveled up to Levelland this past weekend to play in the Lighthouse. I think we had a good size group up there and from the payout list we were rewarded as several of the CVDGA made payout this weekend. Congrats goes out to: Nick and Patty for cashing in Pro, Jeanne for taking 4th in womens, Reese, Patrick, and Jonathan for finishing 2nd-4th in Intermediate, and myself for taking home 3rd place in rec. From talking to several of the players sounded like everyone that went had a great time and really enjoyed the courses. Hopefully we’ll bring a few more along next time!
MINIS
Tuesday the ladies are at Brentwood Park for their weekly mini. Teetime is 6pm.
Wednesday the mid-week mini is also at Brentwood Park for some random doubles. Teetime is also 6pm for this one.
Saturday is out to South Concho for another round of random doubles. 10am teetime for this one.
Sunday’s mini we are headed to the lake for some handicapped singles. 2pm teetime for this one.
ACE RACE PRE-REGISTRATION
The Ace Race pre-registration time is almost over. If you are one that wants to play but haven’t signed up yet….now is the time to get that done as registration will close tomorrow evening (Wednesday).
Cost is only $25 for that entry fee you get to compete in the Ace Race for Discraft prizes, you get 2 unseen, unthrown before proto-type discs, a supercolor mini, a discraft hat, and all new to this year’s player pack a bag tag. That’s a retail price of close to $50…all for your $25 entry fee.
You do not have to be present at the event to receive your player packs. If you just want to order the stuff in just to have that is just fine to do…several players in the past have done this: including myself the first 2 years Abilene ran their ace race.
Ace Pot $5 (to be paid the day of the event)
You can register in a couple of different ways:
One is to contact the TD and hook up with him where ever you can to give him your registration form and entry fee. Brandn Moore – 277-3725, or brandn_moore2000©yahoo.com
Two is to swing by Cortese Flag & Silkscreen: you can either print off the registration form from the CVDGA site, or I’ve got some here to fill out. Please bring cash only as I can not run debit cards for CVDGA event.
Three is to bring the filled out registration form and entry fee to the Wednesday mini located at Brentwood Park this week and give it to either myself or one of the other board members out there.

3 rounds plus a final 9
All divisions are being offered.
$5 ace pot
