Tuesday is here once again, and we all know that means weekly update time is here. This week in DG we have a full mini schedule for the week. We also have a tourney to the north this weekend in Levelland. The Junction tourney is next up after this weekend. Ace Race registration is open and Patty is taking signups at all the minis he attends until July 27th.
MINIS
Wednesday’s mini will be at Picnic Bend this week and the format is set for random doubles. Teetime is 6pm.
Saturday’s S.C. mini will be handicapped singles with a teetime of 10am.
Sunday the lake mini will start at 2pm and this weeks’ format is random doubles.
(weekend minis maybe a little low on turnout with the Levelland tourney this weekend, so take the handicaps with you just in case)
LEVELLAND – Lighthouse on the Plains
The 4th Annual Lighthouse on the Plains in Levelland is this weekend, July 16th & 17th.
This is a PDGA B Tier event with lots of added cash to the pro divisions
Online signups through the PDGA site, preregistering saves you $5
Day of registration 8-9am
Players Packs limited to the first 75
Player limit 110
3 rounds of 24 holes.
Divisions listed on the flyer include:
Open $75
Open Women $65
Masters $70
Advanced $60
Adv. Masters $60
Intermediate $50
Recreational $40
Juniors $30
Ace Pot $5

This is a very good tourney, hope to see a lot of CVDGAer’s up in Levelland this weekend.
ACE RACE
This year’s Ace Race is being TDed by Donavan “Patty” White and is going to be held at the lake. This just might be the debut of the clubs new 9 portable Mach Vs for sure at all CVDGA events including Ace Race, Ash Minis, and all tourneys. Several board members got together this past Friday and put them together…man do they look good!!!!! Can’t wait to try them out.
Ace Race Date: August 13th. But this is a pre-registration ONLY event…..So
Signup deadline is July 27th. If you signed up, but did not pay by this date your player pack will not be ordered, so be sure to get paid up by the deadline.
This is a great tourney to sign up for whether you can make it or not. The player pack alone is well worth the cost of entry($25). Just for signing up you get 2 prototype Discraft discs, a supercolor mini, and new this year…and bag! Then if you hit the most aces throughout the day you have a chance to win more prizes.
For those that have not attended an Ace Race: basically all you do is throw for aces! There is no approaching, no putting…just driving (at shortened holes) for a chance to rack up some aces. You throw from the teebox and either hit an Ace, hit Metal, or hit nothing…and that’s just how you score it on the card. A, M, or a dash for NADA! Go pick up your discs…that’s right I said discs…plural! This year you get 2 chances to hit each hole each time through. So you get twice the throws for the same amount of $$.
