Weekly update day, and there are several things to go over this week. This week we’ve got 2 minis, an area tourney, several heading off to the biggest tourney in Texas, and another area tourney coming up in a couple of weeks.
Minis
A new month will bring us a new round of minis. First Wednesday of the month means handicapped Brentwood Singles. Start time, as always on Wednesdays is 6pm. If you haven’t played in a singles mini in the last year, we now handicap singles rounds. You must play 2 rounds, and then on your 3rd round at that course your handicap takes effect. The handicaps continued on from last year, so no matter if you got 1 round in or 8 that is still on your record. You just pick up from where you left off.
Guess what this month will bring us at the end….give up, we’ll here’s a hit. We’ve got 5 Wednesdays this month…still don’t know? We’ve got a GET RIPT round this month. So for all you Ript lovers, you’ve got something to look forward to. Can’t wait……
Sunday we’ll have our EVERY Sunday random doubles at the lake. Several people might be heading off to tourneys this weekend. If you are one of them good luck…if you are not head out to the lake at 2pm and help this mini make.
The area tourney this weekend is the 2nd Annual Fort Stockton “Comanche Spring Disc Golf Tourney”. April 4th & 5th.
You’ll play 2 rounds of 22 on Saturday, followed by a free brisket dinner and cold beer.
Sunday you’ll play 1 round of 18, then a final 9.
There will be CTP prizes to be won, and added cash to the pro payout.
Most all divisions are being offered.

The other area tourney coming up in a couple of weeks is The 2009 West Texas Disc Golf Champions Tourney in Big Spring. I think this is the 4th or 5th Annual. I’ve been to 3 and let me tell you, Greg always puts on a very fun event. Just bring your arms cause there is a lot of DG to play. You play 2 rounds of 27 on Saturday, and 1 round of 27 on Sunday.
All divisions are being offered, and there are trophies to the top 3 of each division.
Player packs to the first 100 players.
Camping is Free, but limited
Registration is from 8-9am Saturday
There is also a Friday doubles round to get some more throws or get a feel for the course if you haven’t played it. 4pm start time and it’s random draw. $10 per person.

As of now there are 6 CVDGAers heading to Houston this weekend for Texas’ biggest tourney of the year. Nick(open), Carl(gmaster), Patty(adv), Jason(int), Cody(int), and Mike(rec) are all going to The Texas State Championships this weekend. So as you can see we’ve got several divisions covered. Wish us luck in representing San Angelo and the CVDGA at this A tier event. I’ll let you know how it went in next week’s update.
